Q: The Blanket Distribution.
A: Ammucare blanket distribution is expected to start on November 9th, the day of Ammucare Anniversary. We are yet to conclude the plans. Like last year, we will distribute blankets to the poor old in the slums of New Delhi and near Shirdi in Maharashtra. Depending on the collection of funds, we shall also distribute food provisions, just like last year. Last year, your support was overwhelming and we were able to do more distributions in wider areas. When we purchase larger quantity, the price per blanket is less and we get more mileage for our money. I think we shall start collecting funds starting from the end of August. Kindly liaise with Biba, Jennifer, Shernaz, Pradeep, Manjari, Devang, Ramdas, Jay etc in Dubai, Samata and Simran in Mumbai, Ammucare HO (ammucare@sancharnet.in or ammucare@gmail.com), Shaju, Bindu, Kalyani in Delhi etc. Some of you wanted to participate in the actual distribution. You are most welcome. Please liaise with Shaju in Delhi and he would guide you with the time and place. You can obtain the telephone numbers and contact details from Biba. She and others would be posting the plans of distribution, venue and dates in the group and our sites too.
Q: Students
A: Ammucare Village is not accomodating any students as yet. Yes, the village is being made to accomodate poor children, educate them and create strong citizens. The building process is slow due to the insufficiency of funds. We will get there, sooner or later. All the voluntary donations that we receive during BTW sessions are all going for this purpose. Ammucare village is a concept, which can be adapted into any country. The students that we are supporting now, are either living with their parents or in hostels. If you would like to sponsor children, please communicate with Ammucare HO, ammucare@gmail.com .
Q: Greeting Cards
A: Ammucare is indeed supporting the greeting cards made by the widows of Himalayas. We do not keep any stock here in the Middle East. They are unique hand made cards. Please contact www.vanamaliashram.org based in Himalayas, if you would like to order Greeting cards. Please use the reference of Ammucare so that they know where you are coming from.
