COVID-19 lockdown has hit the poorest of the poor...
As Covid-19 gripped the world, India went into lockdown on 25th March and Ammucare went into action mode for those affected. We have been looking out for the endangered and disadvantaged communities throughout the country to aid their survival.
With two community kitchens running in Ambernath and Badlapur in collaboration with Youth of Welfare Today Foundation, we feed over a 1000 people everyday in the worst hit state- Maharashtra. The food is not only distributed in these areas but our frontline volunteers are traveling to remote locations to deliver freshly prepared food packets.
We have provided food relief, grocery and ration kits to the street, slum dwellers, migrant, daily wage workers, unemployed, stranded and the transgender community across 10 states. A daily feeding of animals is being carried out simultaneously.
Apart from the immediate food relief, Ammucare has also distributed soaps, sanitizers, medicines and masks to special schools, hospitals and old age homes. Our women from the skill empowerment project in Mohanpur, Jharkhand have been able to stitch and supply masks to villages nearby.
Everyday we strive to save and sustain more lives. With the economy taking hit, our efforts are directed to continue post lockdown to help the poor keep afloat. We at Ammucare are deeply grateful to all those who have come forward to help. Our goal is to reach 500000 beings with food to survive. All donations are given a 50% tax exemption under article 80g.
